Turkey, Pumpkin Pie and Cranberries

Let's talk turkey...Turkey Red Oil, that is. Turkey Red Oil is used to emulsify essential oils so that they will dissolve in other water-based products, or for superfatting liquid soap if you want the soap to remain transparent. This means that the oil will combine with the water in the tub, and not leave those little oil bubbles floating on the top of the water. It is of medium viscosity and is usually used in bath oil recipes along with fragrance or essential oils, or in shampoos. This oil also has great moisturizing properties. Turkey Red Oil has a distinct, heavy scent and is amber in color, hence the "Red" in Turkey Red Oil. It is a "surfactant" and therefore makes a wonderful base for a bath oil as it mixes well with water, producing a perfect moisturizing bath.

After you've cooked all day, you might be in the mood for a nice, long, regenerating bath, so here's a great Post-Thanksgiving Bath recipe:
Bath Oil Recipe from Scents 'N Sensibility
8 ounces of Turkey Red Oil
15 drops of your favourite essential oil (Sweet Orange and Lemongrass are very uplifting without being too invigorating)
Turkey Red Oil is preferable because it is the only oil that disperses in water, leaving no oily film on the tub. Use only two tablespoons per full, hot bath and soak. Bliss!

While you're enjoying your super-moisturizing Turkey Red Oil soak, why not indulge in a little calorie-free dessert?
